Low wages and poor working conditions are still major problems for the majority of workers in the voluntary and community sector.
That’s according to former Sligo/Leitrim Labour Party candidate Nessa Cosgrove who works in the sector.
Her comments come in the aftermath of the announcement by Minister of State Joe O Brien of multi-annual funding for charities.
She says there are underlying problems in the sector that have gone unaddressed for too long.
