Ireland West Airport is to close for a month from the 14th of November until the 13th of December.

The decision was made in light of the news that Ryanair will suspend all flights from Knock and Shannon for these dates.

There has been a complete collapse in travel demand due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic with passenger numbers down by over 90% at Ireland West Airport.

In a statement released to OceanFM News this afternoon, representatives say they require urgent government supports to address the financial loss in the sector.
