Wolfe must make final decision on his own future

A Sligo Leitrim TD says the future of the chief Justice Seamus Wolfe is in his own hands.

The Supreme Court asked former Chief Justice Susan Denham to look into to the attendance of Mr Wolfe at the Golfgate event in Clifdon during the summer, she concluded that there was not sufficient grounds to warrant his resignation.

The report concluded that while the Supreme Court Judge should have not attended the dinner, calls for his resignation are disproportionate.

The controversial dinner has already to the resignations of former Minister Dara Calleary and former EU Commissioner Phil Hogan – over public anger at the breach of Covid regulations.
