Covid-19: Donegal enduring the economic cost

With greater Covid-19 restrictions now in force throughout County Donegal, the economic cost is already being seen with businesses closed and jobs being lost, if only temporarily.

While there is acceptance of the need to adhere to the restrictions to prevent the spread of the virus and to protect lives, there are growing fears that many businesses might not open until next year.

More than 30 people have been let go from their jobs in the Clanree Hotel in Letterkenny.

The manager of the hotel is Donegal Municipal District Councillor Micheal naughton, a native of Enniscrone in West Sligo and also a member of the Donegal Tourism Task Force.

He has been telling Ocean FM News of how difficult it is to have to tell people there is no work for them.
