Another silver screen boost for Sligo

The first trailer for the Irish comedy film Pixie, set in Sligo, starring Olivia Cooke, Alec Baldwin and Colm Meaney, has been released, ahead of its launch on October 23.

Directed by Barnaby Thompson, the movie tells the tale of Pixie, a young woman who wants to avenge her mother’s death by plotting a heist.

However, her plans go awry and she finds herself on the run with two young men who are way out of their depth being chased across the Irish countryside by gangsters.

It’s another cinema boost for Sligo following the huge success of Normal People, which was also set in Tubbercurry and Streedagh, in County Sligo.
