Covid-19: 23 more cases in Donegal, national figure highest since April

430 more people have tested positive for coronavirus — with yesterday’s figure the highest since April.

212 were in Dublin and 23 in Donegal, but doctors have voiced concerns about Cork, where there were 54 cases, and Galway with 23.

As of yesterday evening, there has been 850 cases in Donegal, 171 in Sligo and 115 in Leitrim.

The acting Chief Medical Officer Dr Ronan Glynn has warned the situation with Covid-19 will continue deteriorate unless everyone plays their part to stop its spread.

President of the Infectious Diseases Society, Professor Sam McConkey, says something has to change, or deaths will start to rise:

Some doctors have already warned Cork and Galway could be next to be placed on level three restrictions.

But Co Donegal GP Dr Denis McCauley says people in the cities still have the power to avoid that.
