Waiting in the rain for NCT tests

There are growing complaints over people having to wait outside in the rain while their vehicles are being tested at NCT centres.

It’s as a result of centre reception areas being closed to the waiting public because of Covid-19 restrictions.

The issue has arisen following the restarting of NCT testing after the lockdown and the recent onset of wet and windy weather.

Sligo Fine Gael Councillor Thomas Walsh says there should be some form of shelter provided if people have to wait outside.

He has written to Transport Minister Eamon Ryan over the issue.
