Sligo semi-final venues and times confirmed

The Homeland Sligo senior football championship semi-finals will both be played next weekend at Markievicz Park.

Drumcliffe/Rosses Point, who beat Eastern Harps on Sunday by 0-13 to 0-7 in Scarden to finish top of Group 1, will take on Group 2 runners-up Coolera/Strandhill in the first semi-final on Saturday evening (Sept 5th) in Markievicz Park at 6:15pm.

It’s just the second time in their history that the north Sligo club has qualified for the senior county semi-finals. The previous occasion was in 1995.

On Sunday afternoon, holders Tourlestrane will face Group 1 runners-up St Mary’s in the second semi at 4pm.

Aidan Rooney’s side secured their place in the last four after an emphatic 0-16 to 0-6 win against Shamrock Gaels on Sunday – a result which consigns the Gaels to the relegation play-offs along with Eastern Harps from Group 1.

Both senior semi-finals will be live on Ocean FM Sport and they will also be streamed live on the Sligo GAA YouTube channel.
