Donegal gardaí are warning of email and text scams currently doing the rounds.
The emails claim to be from Netflix or Amazon and ask recipients to update their payments details.
The emails are designed to gain personal information and bank account information while a text message claims to be from the Department of Social Protection.
The Department will never request bank account or other account details from customers by text or on social media nor do they clarify or check such information over the phone.
In all instances, people are asked to ignore the messages and to contact services through their official websites or phone numbers.
