14 new Covid-19 cases in Donegal



14 new cases of Covid-19 have been confirmed in Co. Donegal.

There were no new cases in Sligo, which is approaching two weeks without one, or Leitrim, which remains the only county nationally with no new cases over the last two weeks.

Sligo remains at 156, Leitrim with 85 and Donegal with 537.

A statement from the National Public Health Emergency Team shows 142 new cases nationally as of Midnight Friday.

Of the new cases, 59 are in Dublin, 20 in Kildare, 14 in both Donegal and Limerick, 8 in Wexford, 6 in Tipperary and the remaining 21 are in 10 other counties.

While an infectious disease expert’s warning a second lockdown’s possible unless people start taking more responsibility to help stop the spread of Covid-19.

Dr Jack Lambert, says people need to be doing more to keep the virus suppressed.
