Sligo travel agent says messages from government are confusing, contradictory

A leading Sligo travel agent says the government’s travel ‘green list’ is sending out a confusing and contradictory message.

John Mullaney from Mullaney Travel says Irish tourists are unable to fly direct to some of the countries on the list – and would have to take connecting flights via countries which are excluded from Ireland’s green list.

He says people also face the prospect of being penalised for following government advice to avoid making unnecessary overseas journeys. If they cancel their flight themselves – they won’t be refunded any money.
