Sligo senior club championships starts on July 25th



The fixtures for the Sligo senior club football championship have been confirmed.

The action will begin on Saturday, July 25th, at 7pm.

Drumcliffe/Rosses Point and Tubbercurry will open Group 1 at Connolly Park in Collooney.

The same evening in Group 2, last year’s beaten county finalists, Coolera/Strandhill, will play 2019 intermediate champions Geevagh in Markievicz Park, also at 7pm.

County champions Tourlestrane, who are bidding for a five-in-a-row this year, begin their Group 2 campaign on Saturday, August 1st, against Coolaney/Mullinabreena at Kilcoyne Park in Tubbercurry.

The top two teams from each group will qualify directly for the county semi-finals – with the bottom-placed team in each group contesting the relegation final.

The date of the county final has been brought forward a week to the weekend of September 19/20th, at Markievicz Park.

The Sligo intermediate football championship will also start on Saturday, July 25th with two group games.
In Group 1, last year’s county finalists Bunninadden will play Ballymote in Keash at 7pm.
In Group 2, there’ll be a west division clash in Quigabar as St Farnan’s take on Easkey.
