Councillors in Sligo have passed a motion calling on the Garda Commissioner and Justice Minister to visit Sligo Garda Station.
Councillor want them to explain why the decision to build a new Garda Station at Caltragh was cancelled and instead a refurbishment of the existing headquarters is to go ahead.
Submitted by Independent Councillor Marie Casserly, the motion was passed at Monday’s Sligo County Council Meeting.
Speaking to OceanFM News, Councillor Casserly says a commitment was made and needs to be followed through.
