IFA President shocked by level of destruction following Drumkeeran landslide



The president of the IFA has described as devastating the recent landslide which caused extensive to roads, farms and mountain commonage in Drumkeeran County Leitrim.

Tim Cullinan visited the scene of destruction at the ‘Dawn of Hope’ area yesterday evening which suffered extensive damage last weekend due to the heavy rainfall.

Peat and debris was washed from the mountain onto commonage ground and nearby farms covering land and causing extensive damage

Speaking to Ocean FM, the IFA president says that farmers have been left devastated by the disaster.

Colm O’Donnell the president of the National Council of the Irish Natura and Hill Farmers Association will be in Drumkeerin this morning to meet local farmers and access the damage first hand.
