Sligo GAA club championship draws are made

The draws for the 2020 Sligo senior, intermediate and junior club football and hurling championships were made on Wednesday night.

Listen back to the draw as it happened, plus reaction, here:

Senior football champions Tourlestrane (bidding for five-in-a-row this year) were drawn in the same group as last year’s intermediate winners Geevagh.

The Sligo senior championship is, again, being played as two groups of five teams.

The top two teams in each group will qualify for the county semi-finals.

Dates, times and venues for the senior championship will be confirmed soon by Sligo GAA.

In the intermediate championship, Group 1 has the makings of  a real dogfight, with last year’s beaten county finalists Bunninadden in with Curry, St Molaise Gaels, Ballymote and Enniscrone Kilglass.

The 2019 Junior ‘A’ champions St Michael’s are in Group 2 with Castleconnor, St Farnan’s, St John’s and Easkey.

This year’s Sligo senior hurling championship group stages has pitted last year’s county finalists in the same group – with defending champions Naomh Eoin set to take on Easkey in round robin stages.
