A Civic Reception in Sligo has been proposed for the lead actors, directors and writers of Normal People. The proposal has been put forward by Sligo councillor, Michael Clarke, who says the council recognises the importance of the film industry in the North West, and the TV series has provided huge promotion for Co Sligo
