Mixed local political reaction to possible government formation



 

A Sligo Leitrim TD has expressed his confidence that the formation of a new government will take place in the coming days.

 

The leaders of Fine Gael, Fianna Fáil and the Greens are meeting again this morning to try to sign off on a programme for government.

 

There’ve been a number of wins for the Greens in the draft document, including a 7 per cent annual reduction in carbon emissions.

 

Two thirds of its parliamentary party will need to back the deal for it to get over the line.

 

Sligo Leitrim TD Frank Feighan expects the respective with support from independents will be able to make the new collation work….

 

 

 

Meanwhile a Donegal TD says the clear mandate of change delivered by the people in the last election is being ignored.
