A local TD is calling for an EU wide approach on reopening the nations airports such as Knock Airport.
Sligo/Leitrim TD and Fianna Fail Spokesperson on Transport, Tourism and Sport, Marc MacSharry raised the issue in the Dail recently with Transport Minister, Shane Ross.
A taskforce has been set up to advise the aviation sector, however, it could take upwards of 5 weeks before they report back which Deputy MacSharry says is too long for the sector.
Speaking to OceanFM News, he says other EU countries have set dates on reopening their aviation sector and we need a similar approach in Ireland
