The Cathaoirleach of Sligo County Council Councillor has paid tribute to the Sligo Fire Service personnel who have been working around the clock this week fighting forestry and gorse fires around the county.
Cllr Tom MacSharry has praised the professionalism and courage of Fire crews, who have been working in challenging and often dangerous conditions over the past week.
One member of the Mayo fire personnel was injured this week while attending the scene of a blaze.
Speaking to Ocean FM News, Cllr MacSharry says the efforts of the fire fighters have helped to prevent destruction to property all over the County
