The Fianna Fail Spokesperson on transport tourism and Sport, Mar MacSharry TD has accused his fellow Sligo/Leitrim TD Frank Feighan of ‘crying crocodile tears’ over the decision not to proceed with the new Garda Station at Caltragh.
The decision to continue with upgrading the existing station in Sligo on Pearse Road in preference to a new station was announced by the Minister for Justice Charlie Flanagan in the Dáil last night.
Deputy MacSharrry has accused Fine Gael of engaging in ‘political engineering’ with the Garda Commissioner which has resulted in major Garda regional and divisional bases being established in Galway and Letterkenny at the expenses of Sligo.
