Legislation has been approved for the National Transport Authority to allow an extension of one year to the maximum permitted age of taxis and SPSVs due to the COVID19 outbreak.
The changes have been welcomed by Sligo Leitrim TD Frank Feighan
The Sligo based TD says it will come as a relief to a number of taxi drivers and business owners who faced having to change their vehicles due to the law, despite their cars being off the road and not earning income for the last two months.
