Cyclist suffers head injuries in Union Wood



An injured cyclist was rescued from the Union Woods outside Ballisodare yesterday evening in a multi-agency operation involving the Sligo Leitrim Mountain Rescue Team, Ambulance Service and the Coastguard Helicopter.

 

The man had been cycling in Union Woods in the company of his wife when he fell and suffered an injury to the head.

 

A number of services were alerted and worked in coordination to ensure a safe and efficient stabilisation and evacuation of the injured man.

 

The injured man was brought to Sligo University Hospital Emergency Department.
