Detergents & Chemicals being dumped into Collooney Sewage Plant



It’s emerged that there is illegal dumping of large amounts of detergents and chemicals into the sewage network at the Collooney Water Treatment Plant.

 

This dumping is causing extensive damage to local rivers and lakes according to Sinn Féin Councillor Thomas Healy.

 

Speaking to Ocean FM News, Cllr Healy says the dumping of large quantities of effluents containing chemicals and detergents is shock loading sewage treatment plants which are then overwhelmed resulting in significant pollution to local rivers and lakes:
