Funding secure for Summerhill College Extension



Assurances have been sought from the Minister for Education and Skills, Joe McHugh TD to confirm that Government capital investment funding for the proposed development of a new building extension at Summerhill College in Sligo will not be affected by the financial uncertainty caused by the COVID19 outbreak.

 

Funding the expansion project was announced by Fine Gael Deputy Tony McLoughlin TD last year and planning and development works between the school management and the Department have been progressing since.

 

The school is operating at full capacity currently and the new extension is needed in order to ensure that pupils can continue to be enrolled in the school without the introduction of caps.
