VAT rate needs to be reduced to 0%, insists Co Sligo publican

A County Sligo publican has called for the VAT rate for the tourism and hospitality industry to be reduced to zero per cent for up to two years, to allow it to recover from the economic effects of Covid-19. Adrian Tansey, proprietor of The Crossbar Pub in Gurteen, also maintains if restrictions are to be lifted on pub openings, it needs to be a total, and not partial, return to business
