Special Needs Assistants can help the health service



The Education Minister says special needs assistants can be a big asset when it comes to taking pressure off the health service.

 

The country’s 16 thousand SNA’s are being offered temporary re-assignment to other roles for the duration of the coronavirus pandemic.

 

It’s hoped many of them can help out in community healthcare services for children with disabilities, freeing up nurses and other staff to take on frontline duties.
