Covid-19 claims three more lives in north west



 

Covid-19 has claimed a further 3 lives in the north west and 17 in the Republic of Ireland.

 

There were also 325 new cases were confirmed yesterday.

 

71 people have now died here from the virus.

 

The total number of cases also stands at 3,235.

 

There are currently 46 cases of covid-19 in Donegal, 19 in Sligo and 6 in Leitrim.

 

The health watchdog is to carry out a risk-assessment to see which nursing homes need more help to deal with Covid-19.

 

It’s one of the recommendations top health officials have made to deal with clusters of the virus in nursing homes.

 

Health Minister Simon Harris says a number of measures are to be taken to deal the outbreaks in nursing homes.
