Ocean FM shortlisted in prestigious New York Radio Awards

Ocean FM has been shortlisted for a prestigious New York Festival Radio Award.

‘Getting Better Not Bitter’, a feature story on US author and Sligo attack victim, Robert Drake, is nominated in the Best Human Interest Story category.

The programme was produced by Niall Delaney.

Ocean FM is the only Irish independent local radio station in the country to be nominated for the international award.

The New York Festivals Radio Awards honours radio content in all lengths and formats and across all platforms from radio stations, networks, and independent producers from around the world.

It’s the second year in a row that the station has been nominated for a New York Award – last year, Sailing Homeward to Coney Island, produced by Francie Boylan, was shortlisted.

And in 2013, Francisco, a radio drama, won the Gold Award at the Festival for its drama on the life of Francisco De Cuellar.
