Sligo County Council is calling on the Minister for Health to lower the age for women’s eligibility for Breast Check from 50 to 21.
People Before Profit Councillor Gino O Boyle says women under 50 wanting a scan have to pay for it privately.
He says the sooner any abnormalities are detected, the better the chance of cure.
