Sligo council honour for president of Irish Shows Association

A north Sligo woman will be given a special honour by Sligo County Council this (Tuesday) afternoon.

A civic reception is to be accorded to Catherine Gallagher, from Grogagh, Grange, who is president of the Irish Shows Association, the umbrella body for agricultural shows throughout the country.

Membership of the Association is open to all recognised Agricultural Show Societies throughout the island of Ireland.

Catherine Gallagher’s term as ISA president will run for two years.

She told Ocean FM News that she is delighted to be given the civic reception, as well as the opportunity to promote agricultural shows and her local area.

And we will have an extended interview with Catherine Gallagher on this week’s edition of Agri Week on Thursday at 9pm.
