A local councillor is calling on Transport Infrastructure Ireland and Sligo County Council to install traffic calming measures in South Sligo.
At a the monthly meeting of Sligo County Council, Fine Gael councillor Dara Mulvey called upon the local authority to address the extremely busy stretch of the N17 in Tubbercurry town.
Cllr Mulvey has called upon the TII to install a pedestrian crossing or funding to be made available for speed restrictions on the main national primary road entering the town which is surrounded by a housing estate, shops, a national school and a library.
