FG Sligo/Leitrim Director of Elections defends strategy for consitiuency

Fine Gael Director of Elections for Sligo/Leitrim, Enda Candon, has defended his party’s strategy in the Sligo/Leitrim constituency.

Speaking to the OceanFM team during the live General Election coverage, Fine Gael candidate, Thomas Walsh, raised issue with the way the constituency was split during the campaign.

Walsh, who is also a Sligo Councillor, believed the area was too ‘confined’ to be divided the way it was between him and his running mate, Senator, now Deputy, Frank Feighan.

Thomas Walsh was eliminated in the 14th count last night at the Sligo Park Hotel with a total tally of 5,975

Enda Candon says the division may have been a ‘little less than ideal.’
