Sligo ladies lose to Kildare in Division 3

There was disappointment again for Sligo women’s gaelic footballers on Sunday in Division 3 of the Lidl national football league as opponents Kildare overturned a three-point half-time deficit to win by eight points in Newbridge on a final scoreline of Kildare 2-13 Sligo 1-8.

Micheál Bohan’s side had a strong first half and led by 1-7 to 1-4.

But Kildare were a different proposition in the second half and restricted their opponents to just one solitary score in the second half, with former Sligo and Drumcliffe/Rosses Point footballer Siobhán O’Sullivan prominent for the lillywhites at midfield.

Sligo will regroup and face Down next Sunday 9th at home in Eastern Harps pitch Keash at 2pm.
