Seaview Respite House in Mountcharles to open tomorrow

Seaview Respite House in Mountcharles, Co Donegal, is to reopen tomorrow, Thursday.

The centre provides residential respite services for families in the South Donegal area.

RehabCare has confirmed that Seaview House has now been registered by HIQA.

This means all outstanding legal processes regarding the transfer of services of Seaview from the HSE to RehabCare are complete.

RehabCare says it is now scheduling clients for respite with immediate effect, and will welcome its first clients tomorrow.

A spokesperson for RehabCare says it is very much looking forward to finally welcoming its first clients at this nurse-led service, which is vital to the community.

It also says it wants to reassure families that continuity of care and the provision of a person-centred, quality service for the adults and children who will access this service is its number one priority.

RehabCare points out it has a long history of providing excellent, person centred care and currently provides a range of services to 3000 adults and children at 117 locations around the country.

These includes vital respite and residential services for 186 children, many with high-support needs.

Rehab says it is conscious that there was significant delay for families waiting for the transfer of the service in south Donegal …. adding that it is delighted that the wait is now over.
