Long term master plan to benefit Sligo villages

A master plan for a number of villages in Sligo could be hugely beneficial for the Sligo Drumcliffe Municipal District.

Villages such as Ballisodare, Collooney, Grange and Cliffoney would benefit extensively from a development master plan according to Sinn Fein Councillor Thomas Healy who recently submitted a motion on the matter along with Cllr Donal Gilroy and Cllr Tom Fox to the local authority.

Cllr Healy says the villages in question are growing urban centres and are facing a number of challenges as a result.

He says a regional and local long term development plan is needed now in order to help the respective villages prosper for the next twenty years.
