Sligo make winning start to Division 4



Sligo senior gaelic footballers cruised to an impressive 5-9 to 0-11 win against London in Sunday’s Allianz Football League Division 4 game at Ruislip.

With Red Óg Murphy making his senior league debut for Sligo, the visitors found the net early through Daragh Cummins and were never seriously troubled after that.

Two slightly fortuitous first half goals from team captain Paddy O’Connor helped Sligo establish a 3-3 to 0-3 half-time lead.

The goals continued to flow after the re-start with Pat Hughes netting twice inside a minute to put the game beyond Leitrim’s reach.
