An appeal is being made to workers for election candidates to be mindful of road safety when putting up posters.
A particular concern is visibility being blocked or hindered by posters.
It follows a warning last week from Electric Ireland about attaching posters to electricity poles.
Brian O Donnell, road safety officer with Donegal County Council, says the well-being of those using roads, streets and footpaths has to be the priority.
