Two new candidates have joined the election race in the north west.
They are Oisin O’Dwyer, from Drumshanbo, who is running for Renua in the Sligo/Leitrim, North Roscommon, South Donegal constituency.
In the 2019 local elections, O’Dwyer received 43 first preference votes when he ran in the Ballinamore electoral area.
In the Donegal constituency, Anne McCloskey, a councillor on Derry City and Strabane Council, is running for Aontu.
It now looks like there will be 18 candidates running in Sligo/Leitrim, North Roscommon and South Leitrim, and at least 12 in Donegal.
The final list of candidates will be known after 12 noon tomorrow.
