Sligo, Leitrim and Donegal County Councils nominated for Irish planning award



Sligo, Leitrim and Donegal County Councils have all been nominated for awards at this years Irish planning Awards for 2020.

The theme of this years awards are ‘Celebrating Excellence and Innovation in Irish Planning’ with a total entry of 56 projects involved.

The Irish Planning Institute seeks, through the Irish Planning Awards, to highlight innovation and excellence in Irish planning through diverse range of projects and plans taking place at a local, county and regional level in complex and dynamic environments.

The categories for this years North West nominees comprise of Participation and Engagement, Design and Management and Delivery.

Sligo County Council have been put forward in the Design Category which will be awarded to the best in design from urban design or public realm plans to individual projects which, respond to an urban or rural setting.

Donegal County Council has been nominated for a Participation and Engagement award that recognises plans, studies, strategies and projects which demonstrate how public participation had been effective in changing outcomes. It can also include measures to increase engagement and awareness of planning or innovative public consultation.

Leitrim County Council has been nominated in the Management and Delivery category for a planning and economic development award. This prize recognises both effective and innovative management and success in delivery in planning.

This years awards take place on the 27th of February in Dublin.
