Candidates urged to take position on pension age



SIPTU members are calling on all the North West general election candidates to back the union’s campaign not to increase the pension age to 67 years of age.

Up to 150 SIPTU trade union members and activists who work in the health service are to meet for a special campaign event this evening in the Sligo Glasshouse hotel.

The “Stop67” campaign, which takes place at 7pm tonight, is calling on the incoming governing members to stop the planned increase in the State pension age to 67 in 2021.
