New record high for Trolley figures



52 people across the North West are waiting for hospital beds today, as trolley figures reach a new record high.

760 people nationwide are waiting on trolleys and chairs this morning, the highest recorded number since records began. The beds needed today would take more than twice the available beds at Letterkenny Hospital.

Meanwhile, Letterkenny University Hospital have 37 patients without beds today with 11 waiting in the emergency department and 26 waiting on other wards throughout the hospital.

Sligo University Hospital have just 15 people without beds today with a recorded 12 in the emergency department and 3 elsewhere in the hospital.

The worst effected hospital today is Limerick University Hospital who also have a new record high of 92 people – which is up 10 on their previous record.
