People throughout the region are being warned about callers to homes proposing to do certain jobs, taking deposits and then not returning to complete the work.
In the west Sligo area, there have been a number of reports of such incidents in recent days.
In some cases, a man who was to do work left the job saying his equipment had broken down and that he would return after getting money.
