Tim Cullinan’s ability in securing transfers proves vital in IFA success

Tim Cullinan has been elected as the next president of the Irish Farmers’ Association, and will succeed outgoing president Joe Healy.

Cullinan was elected following the second count in the association’s presidential election at the Castleknock Hotel in Dublin yesterday.

Cullinan saw off competition from national livestock chairman Angus Woods and Munster regional chairman John Coughlan.

The vote followed a hard-fought campaign that saw all three candidates taking part in hustings at several locations throughout the country.

Speaking to the OceanFM News, the Chairperson of the Sligo branch of IFA Kathleen Kathleen Henry explained that although fellow candidate Angus Woods secured a lot of first preferences in the north west, Tim Cullinan proved to very transfer friendly.
