CSO figures on those living near border

2.7 per cent of the Republic’s population live fewer than 10 kilometres from an official border crossing into Northern Ireland.

The largest number of people within that distance of the border was in Louth at 41-thousand, followed by 39-thousand in Monaghan, and 34-thousand in Donegal.

CSO figures just released from 2016 show over 7-thousand people living in Ireland commute to Northern Ireland for work.
