IFA President says comments from Beef Plan Movement do not reflect the views of its members

The decision by local officials in the Beef Plan to express ‘regret’ that the IFA didn’t hold talks before staging protests at the distribution of some of main retailers in this County has been described as wrong.

The President of the IFA has responded to recent comments made by the Leitrim chairman of the Beef plan movement, Brendan Barry where he encouraged the Irish Farmers Association to engage in discussions with the retailers.

Speaking to Ocean FM news Joe Healy says the comments made by Brendan Barry do not reflect the views of members of the Beef Plan Movement and accused him of embarking on a sole run on the issue.

However, Beef plan movements Brendan Barry says the main point group want to make is that they want retailers to engage in talks and show respect to farmers.
