Sligo senior men’s rugby team were beaten 43-21 by Malahide in Division 2B of the All-Ireland league in Dublin on Saturday.
The home side started brightly and were 5-0 ahead inside the first four minutes.
Malahide built on their strong start and scored another four unanswered tries, with two converted, to lead 24-0 after 30 minutes.
Cal Goddard went over the line for Sligo to make it 29-7 to the Dublin side at half-time.
Sligo added two more tries in the second-half through Daire Bryne and Phillip Carter but it wasn’t enough as Malahide ran in three second-half tries of their own.
