Grange’s Mona McSharry is safely through to the semi-finals of the women’s 50 metres breaststroke on the opening day of European Shortcourse Swimming Championships in Glasgow.
The Marlin’s Swimming Club member qualifed eighth fastest overall from Monday morning’s heats in a time of 30.51 seconds.
The semi-finals and final will take place on Monday evening from 17:00.

Ireland has sent a team of 19 swimmers (11 senior & eight junior) to Glasgow this week.
McSharry is also competing in the women’s 100 metres breaststroke, the 100 metres individual medley and the 50 metres freestyle events. The full Team Ireland schedule this week is available here.
