First time buyers are being abandoned by the government – Scanlon

First time buyers in the north west are being abandoned by the government.

That’s according to local Fianna Fail TD, Eamon Scanlon, who says people are paying more in long term rent than they would be for a mortgage.

Fianna Fail have put forward legislation that hopes to address a number of issues including vulture fund companies buying up houses without consumers being able to bid on them first.

Speaking to Ocean FM News, Deputy Scanlon says the proposes legislation aims to change that.
