ParentStop in Donegal will require further funding – Pat the Cope

A meeting has taken place between Children’s and Youth Affairs Minister Catherine Zappone and representatives of Donegal charity ParentStop.

The meeting in Leinster House was part of an effort to secure funding and a long-term solution to enable the group continue to provide its free and confidential support service for parents and families throughout the county.

ParentStop has offices in Letterkenny, Carndonagh, Downings and Donegal Town.

There are fears it will have to close at the end of the year due to lack of funding.

Donegal TD and  Dáil Leas Cheann Comhairle, Pat the Cope Gallagher facilitated yesterday’s meeting and says that the Minister has made a commitment of funding, however he added that additional funding in the region of 140,000 euro needs to be secured from the Departments of Health and Education.
