Confusion as to why there has been no discussion between ministers on human trafficking – Mac Sharry



A Sligo Leitrim based Fianna Fail TD has expressed his concerns this morning that there has been no meeting between government minsters in relation to smuggling.

Spokesperson on Transport, Tourism and Sport, TD Marc Mac Sharry has questioned the transport minister Shane Ross on why he has not met with the Justice Minister Charlie Flanagan to discuss preventative measures to combat human trafficking.

The Deputy refers to the 39 people that were found dead in a lorry in Essex in the UK last month and the 15 people that were found alive in the back of a lorry in the South West of England late Wednesday night with both incidents having links to Ireland.

Speaking to Ocean FM News, Deputy Mac Sharry says he is baffled as to why there has been no cross departmental discussions about these issues:
